XP is a digital platform created by the Region of Learning, connecting organisations, services, and employers in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. XP is available to anyone, with an emphasis on enabling young people to explore, engage, and articulate their skills & learning experiences to opportunity providers.
We’re committed to recognising what individuals achieve and accomplish outside of formally accredited qualifications, using digital badges to motivate learning and ambition, and connect young people to training and work-related opportunities.

Create your own digital badges to help us promote the learning activities, events and opportunities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in the Region

Pledge it
Businesses and employers can pledge to recognise digital badges as part of your inclusive recruitment process when young people apply for an opportunity such as a work experience placement, apprenticeship, internship or job.

Our XP digital platform gives young people, employers and learning providers the opportunity to accurately record and showcase otherwise hidden learning, skills development and career opportunities.

Digital badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

We have partnered with Badge Nation to help you translate the learning you deliver into a digital badge, issued and managed through the Credly Acclaim Platform. The technology Credly uses on its Acclaim Platform is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

All badges issued are written using the Cities of Learning Badge Standard, which is endorsed by City and Guilds and the RSA.

Representing skills with a digital badge gives learners a way to share their abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Digital badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what individuals have done to earn their credential and what they are now capable of. The Region of Learning platform also offers learning and career pathways, using digital badges to provide routes to job opportunities.

Creating digital badges is completely free as part of the Cambridge City Council Affiliate Badge Nation license to remove any barrier to organisations to start their badging journey. For larger organisations who are interested in developing collections of badges, we have a limited number of free one-year individual Badge Nation licenses, after which there is a cost payable to Badge Nation to cover administrative costs as follows:
