Beth McCabe, Delivery Manager
Beth joined the Region of Learning team in June 2024 as Learning and Careers Officer. She will manage relationships with our delivery partners and stakeholders, ensuring everyone gets the most out of the project and that it continues to bring opportunities for skills and employment to people across the region. She will take the lead on the delivery of the project, overseeing the developing team which will ensure the crucial links between learners, providers and employers are joined up to embed digital badging in the local skills and employment landscape. Beth is passionate about creating the conditions for people to flourish and has a background in inclusion, arts education management (and is a trainee psychotherapist).

Jenny Kehrer, Learner Liaison Officer
Jenny recently started working as a Learner Liaison Officer with Region of Learning. She will be working with learning, opportunity, and employment providers including schools and the region’s All Age Careers Service to coordinate referral routes for individuals interested in digital badges. Jenny will be the first point of contact for learners and will support them to access and complete learning and career pathways which will include accredited learning and employment opportunities. With previous experience working as a registered social worker and for the Centre 33 in Cambridge, she brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the role. Jenny is passionate about engaging with people from different backgrounds and supporting them with housing, money, sexual health and mental health issues.

Alexandra Tobias, Project Coordinator
Alex joined the Region of Learning in April 2024 to support the team with coordinating and elevating processes within the project. Alex’s background is from facilities management which she provided managers support with processes, finance, H&S and compliance.

Julian Stanley, Employer Engagement Officer
Julian Stanley is our dynamic new Region of Learning Employer Engagement Officer. His passion lies in empowering individuals to develop their skills and careers and he is on a mission! Working closely with small and medium-sized businesses, charities, public sector organisations, and community-based groups across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Julian is championing the concept of digital badging.
But what exactly is digital badging? It’s a game-changer. Imagine having a verified record of your skills, training, and achievements—a passport to work experience and employment opportunities. Employers are catching on too - they’re using digital badges to help attract new staff and to enable existing staff to develop the skills they need to succeed and to build a comprehensive digital portfolio of their professional growth. Julian’s career spans leadership roles in several regional and national charities and commercial trading companies. His expertise touches diverse sectors: education, arts, mental health, community, economic development, skills, training, local government, and the civil service. A qualified executive, career coach, and life coach, Julian also proudly serves as Chair of Governors at Trumpington Community College in Cambridge.

Fulvia Placitelli, Provider Support Officer
Fulvia Placitelli joined the Region of Learning in October 2024 to support the team as the first point of contact for providers, including charity and non-profit organisations, that are interested in joining our expanding Digital Badges programme. With her extensive experience in Customer Service and in partnership with Cambridge Online, Fulvia’s role is to assist the growing digital badging community by providing Digital Skills support to any individual or organisation in need. Fulvia enjoys solving problems and helping people make the best use of the technology at our disposal.
